What to Expect

Congratulations on taking the first step toward better health!

We are happy to answer any questions that you have about our services and the treatments that we offer! Call us at 979-732-3900 to visit about treatment options and to schedule an appointment or a complimentary consultation to see if the treatments we offer are the right fit for you!

No physician referral is needed for appointments with our licensed chiropractor, Dr. Burton, D.C.

Our Treatment Approach
Treatment is tailored to each individual patient. By utilizing various treatment techniques such as chiropractic adjustment, electric muscle stimulation, hot-cold packs, soft-tissue movement based techniques of massage, strength and stretching exercises as well as acupuncture and nutrition we are able to help you get out of pain and on your way toward enjoying a better quality of life.

What to expect on your first visit:
Please set aside about 1 hour for your first appointment.  Your first visit will be a lot like a first-time visit to any new doctor. It will include:
  • A health history. You will fill out a form of questions about your health. Dr. Burton may also ask additional questions (e.g., about your diet and exercise or whether you have migraines, etc.).
  • A physical exam. Dr. Burton may look for things that aren’t normal, such as one leg that is shorter than another. The exam may also include a muscle test. This involves pressing an arm or leg against the chiropractor’s hand to test strength. Dr. Burton may also look at your range of motion (e.g., can you reach your arm above your head, etc.).
  • Once the information is gathered, Dr. Burton will explain the results of what he found and talk with you about a treatment plan.
  • If x-rays are needed for treatment, Dr. Burton will refer you out for x-rays as x-rays are not taken at the office. You will also receive instructions on how to obtain them.
  • Dr. Burton understands that not all conditions can be treated with chiropractic, acupuncture and/or nutrition. If he does not sincerely believe that he can help you, he will let you know next steps to take and/or refer you to someone who can help.
  • You could be treated on the same day as your first visit or at a later appointment.

Follow-up visits will take an average of 20-30 minutes.
